Facebook introducing targeting for page posts August 2012 in the category: Facebook
Whenever we post something to our Facebook page, all our fans will possibly see the post within their news feed (if they actually do, depends on the Edgerank) – but did you ever want to only reach certain fans within your fan base? If so, great – you’ll probably soon be able to!
According to a marketer who has been briefed directly by Facebook (and insidefacebook.com), they will be introducing targeting filters for posting to pages. This means while you’re creating your post, you may soon add filters to only reach, say, male fans between 25 and 30 years who live in LA.
Here’s the alleged list of targeting options:
- age
- gender
- interested in
- relationship status
- language
- education
- workplace
- location (country, state, city)
When exactly this will be rolled out for the public, is not yet sure. The general knowledge of the Internet expects this feature to reach us within a few weeks. Also note that when someone actually visits your page, they’ll see all your posts.
